Figure 1. The GOARE ocean observational arrays used in the assimilation program. Also shown are major elements of the intensive and enhanced atmospheric observations which are assimilated into an atmospheric GCM for the special COARE reanalysis. This provides forcing fields for the forward ocean model and the assimilation model.
